Help desperatly please asap!

Ok yesterday i traveled down to new jersey to get my new car, 95 eagle talon tsi fwd, ok the thing is nice, great condition exterior, and nice interior, BUT the guy said he had just reuilt the turbo becuase one day about 2 weeks ago he roasted it, so i test drove it for about and hour and it pulled harder than any dsm that ive driven, but it smoked when i shifted, (small puff of smoke, and ive heard that is normal, bought it and started drivin it home, then about 20 miles out of my 600 mile trip, the oil temp comes on about 3/4's i thought that was kinda hi, i checked the dipstick and it was smoking out of it and there was a funky smell, so i proceeded to keep going untill, all of a sudden the puff of smoke became constant! out of the turbo area now to.... it was fillin of the hi way, i had to pull over. So i called the guy and said he would give me my money back so he came and he did, but he asked if im still interested in it if he gets a NEW or better turbo i said yea if u meet me half way , so... WHAT went wrong, was it the turbo like he said?


these are the current mods,
it has turbo xs boost controller pushing 14psi, hks sequential bov, injen intake, spec stage 3 race clutch, autometer boost/oil temp gauges with pillar, greddy turbo timer, autometer cobalt 5" 10k tach, b&m short shifter, apexi n1 downpipe, n1 exhaust all 3in with 5in apexi muffler, new plugs and wires

Sounds like the turbo. If he gets a new one on and it stops smoking, go for it. And get used to spending money on it.

First be lucky he actually gave you your cash back. That definately should make you still interested in the car if he gets that finished. Point him to slowboy or forced performance for a big-t-28 and tell him it will bolt up just like a t-25 and if he buys that turbo and then sells the turbo to you with the car for the price you have already agreed on then you will come pickup the car asap.

But it honestly sounds like the seals on the turbo went out.

I agree as well, sounds like the turbo seals to me. Really if he gets another T25 for you it's still a good deal because that is what you agree'd on in the first place.

If he gets a different turbo then give him the difference between a T25 (200-300 in great condition ) and a T28 or something like that. Seriously if the guy gave you the money back and is offering to fix the car then he is a pretty honest dude by the sounds of it, so I would still buy from him IMO.

hey wer can i find an upgraded turbo better than the one in it, maybe 20 psi safe dailey, i need a website by tonight to call the guy back he said he's spend 375-400 on the turbo

Help guys i need to call the guy and give him the info today! he wants to knwo were he can get and upraged turbo, also do they make upgraded turbo gaskets. ?
