hey guys i was just looking around under the hood and noticed a lot of oil around my bov. im thinking that my intercooler needs to be cleaned. doesnt seem like im eating any oil and theres no play on the turbo (if that matters) anything else that could be wrong? thanks

heres a pic of the bov. it had a lot more oil on it but i wiped some off.

Try installing an oil catch can coming off the valve cover. It will catch most of that oil and keep it from going through your turbo, intercooler, piping, BOV and motor..... It worked for me....... Also, once you install one, go ahead and clean out everything from your intake to throttle body. Hope this helps. :dsm:

hey thanks for the replys but i dont think that i need a catchcan. i still have the hose conenct to the valve breather spot and just have it pointing down. i dont it wold be able to get oil on my bov from there.

nope i dont burn any oil. ya i guess it could be my turbo. i have a evo III coming so i guess il jsut clean out my ic and all that then see what happens. thanks for the replies guys.

i currently have a catch can also , ummm is there any difference from just taking the hose off the intake and hanging it down ? or just takin gthe hose out and leaving it open ?

if you just take the hose of then you might get a little oil spray from the breather and it will dirty up your engine. i just have the hose hanging right now but ill probably get a catch can soon.
