there should be one fuse on the small box connected to the battery, on mine there were three fuses total and the fuel pump fuse was the middle one. i think you may be able to find this info on vfaq.com, can't remember.

Remove the panel on pass side of console. It is underneath the ECU. It's a big Golden colored Relay. 8 wires go to it. I Have same prob.

Yes it should turn on with the ignition switch. Ignition switch directly supplys power (fuse/links are on other side of ignition switch). The other side of the relay control wire goes to the ECM. My 99 manual also shows the relay (for turbo model) to be at the "Y" position of phastalon's picture (inside center console on right side next to passengers left knee). It is right next to the MFI relay.

my manual shows fusable links on the other side of ignition switch. But if they blew nothing would work on your ignition.

I was just checking my MFI and fuel pump relays tonight. If you take off the kick panel on the passenger side, look at where the ECU is. It bolts onto a little metal beam/brace with a bunch of 10mm bolts in it. In the middle of the beam there are two 10mm bolts right next to each other. If you unbolt both of them, the two relays, which are attached to each other, will come free. They are two little black boxes with wiring harnesses on top of each of them (4 wires into the top of each one).

2G-specific

Yeah the relays for the fuel pump and MFI are inside the passenger side, center console plastic piece. They are on a gold bracket that goes vertically from the floor up to the side of the glove box. There are two 10mm bolts that hold the relays in. When the bolts are removed, the 2 relays will come out together, attached to another little flat gold bracket. Slide the relays off that little bracket and unplug the 4 wire harness thats on each of them, and there you go, you have your relays. Both of them will have the same exact numbers on them as well, because they are the same exact part that controls 2 different things. Hope that helps out a little bit
