I was doing some other gauge work on my car and I had to rewire the boost gauge. I accidently smashed the boost gauge in the door and I also bent the cheap clear tubing when restringing it. Im guessing I either have a leak on the gauge or the tube that I can't find. Am I correct? Thanks

Ok, does the needle go back to 0?

my car hits about 23 at idle.
dont you think a hole would make vac less?

Yeah thats the question, does it work at all? Sounds like its frozen.

who makes the gauge. also, the tubing is not a big deal... if there is a major crease in it, just cut out that section and use a rubber vac coupler to connect the two... i had to do that. they have them at any autoparts stores. i dropped my gauge when i was installing it, and i think it may be messed up, cause it reads 15vac at idle when it should read about 18, but oh well. im going to get a new style gauge in the future anyway. keep us posted.

You can re-configure the gauge. Somebody help me out w/ whats thats called. I had to do it to my ps2 controller cause it was pulling to the right. I hate when i forget stuff, ive killed too many brain cells :|

and the word you are looking for is CALIBRATE!!! LOL. i dont know how to recalibrate a gauge though.

Thanks for all the replies. It reads like 30 vac at idle and when im driving without giving it gas. When I boost it barely reaches 0. I used to read like 17 vac at idle and the gauge worked fine until a few days ago. The gauge is made by autometer. Is there any thing a person could do to the lines under the hood or the gauge to make this happen then? I hope I didnt bust my gauge.

Autometer replaced 2 of my broken gauges. They're good folk.

how exactly does it work? like what do you tell them? what do i have to do?

I doubt they will replace a guage that has dents and what not in it. If it looks like foul play was involved, they arent going to replace it.

Just call autometer and find out how it works. In the race car when one of our gauges goes screwy, we send it to autometer and they replace or repair it.

So call them.

my gauge has a dent in the rim around the outside cause i grabbed it too hard when i was installing it... think they will have a problem with that?

Call them, but yes, i seriously doubt they will replace it since it was your fault.

i could always just say it happened during shipping or i could blame it on them. i am not really looking for a new gauge though... i just want it to be calibrated.
