Think I had a surge now I have no reg beam headlights?

I went to start my 95 N/T Talon one day and it wouldent start! Now I know nothing about cars but I knew it was something to do with the battery because nothing worked at all! TOTALY DEAD. So I poped the hood and noticed a cable loose on the batery wiggiled the cable down and tightend it on the batt then tried to start it again and it started but I had a surge and now I only have high beams! Any ideas on what I messed up and how to fix it?

Also I just noticed a rattle in my dash right behind my headunit when ever I accelorate that is really pissing me off..

First clean the battery terminals and the leads. After that, check your fuses for the low beams, then check the bulbs themselves.

As for the rattling I have it too, (95 Esi) and every other NT I have driven also had it to varying degrees, so i suppose its normal. Just crank your system up & you won't notice it
