need some help..

Yeah so...i just bought a GST.and its been broke down more than it has been driveable. I was pulling out of my neighborhood and all the sudden, i lose power steering,cd player cuts off, and my lights dim. I pull over to the side and the car wont even idle,so i had to keep it revved to stay on and after like 5 minutes it just cuts off.Alternator was just replaced, as well as the battery...i dont really know much about engines at all and ever since ive had the car ive been very stressed...could some1 please give me some guesses as to what this could be??thanks alot.Shawn

Since your power steering cut out, maybe your power steering belt needs replacing, and maybe even the alternator/water pump belt. Do you know the last time they were replaced? Also, can you start the car at all now? If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

i just drove to where my car is and took a closer look,and there lays my alternator belt tore all to hell.so i am getting one tomorrow and putting it on...maybe ill be able to dirve the gst for more than an hour now.thanks for the help.Shawn

Make sure the battery post has a cover on it.
