I just finished my engine swap into my 90 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. The car runs beautiful when you turn on the car and just let it idle. But if you start to drive it for more than 5 mins and put it into neutral it'll stall. The only thing that i could think was causing this was the TPS but i don't think it is. I also eliminated the Cruise Control Module during the swap. Please help!!! comments and tips please!

Check the ISC servo resistances after it has warmed up. I had one which did the same thing and tested good when cold. However, after a few minutes, the engine would die at idle and resistance tests indicated a bad coil. After I removed the bad ISC, it again tested good, once it cooled. However, I could warm it up with a hair dryer and one of the coils would fail.

how much would a new isc run?

About $250 new. You can sometimes buy them on ebay for $50-100. The problem is that you are never sure if they are any good. I once bought 3 of them, from a guy, for $30 shipped. They were all bad but I was able to make 1 good one by swapping parts between them. If you have several bad ones, you can often rebuild them by swapping coils between them. This isn't very difficult with minimal soldering skills.

god damn 250 for that little peice of shit? maybe ill get lucky in a junk yard,... do you still have some of the other coils that didnt work? if you do is there anyway i could buy one off you so i could do a coil swap like you did?

No, I don't have any good coils left. I do have 2 extra ISC servos with good coils. I bought one of them and the other I assembled form good parts from several defective servos. Have you checked the coils in your ISC. If one of the two coils is good you might be able to find another bad one, with one good coil, and make the swap.

Yes, I agree. $250 for a part like this is outrageous.

is there a diffrence between the turbo isc coils and the non turbo?

They are the same. In fact, the front and rear coils, in the ISC, are also interchangeable. In fact, the ISC in my car was assembled using two front coils.
