Hey what is the kragen part number for the oil drain plug gasket? Or what do i need to fix the leak?

well i only have the motormite part number.......if that helps you at all it is 66303
btw the size of the plug is M14 1.5

Hey.... Not to long ago, about 3k miles. I did a turbo replacement on my GSX. I lost about 2qt. of oil dude to Oil Return Line Gasket being wrong size (Dumbass AutoParts Stores). Now its been about 2,500miles and I lost 2 full qt. again. I just replaced it again 5mins ago wit the Mitsuibishi Gasket and it still seems to be leaking. Now I have a few things to explain and maybe someone could help me.
1. Old turbo sucked something in, throw of balance of shaft, shaft cracked exhuast side housing.
2. I didn't take the car apart. A local shop did, and they took 1month to take the turbo off. Then they were leaving for vacation for 2weeks so I took the car back and did the turbo myself.
3. The bolts for the whole system (turbo) where giving to me in a bag. Now since this b***** is leaking so much (4qts worth all togather)... Could I have put the wrong size, length etc bolt back in. Does anyone have a picture, or a part number for this bolt.
4. The gasket is the the one between the oil pan and the oil return line...

For the oil line use some cooper coat, it is a high temperature silcone sealent. Sorry but can't help you out with the turbo.

yea use some high temp rtv or someting simular i had the same problem and to solve it i put some rtv on both sides of the gasket b4 bolting it back in place an let it sit for a day or so

Permatex #2, non-hardening, on the drain flange bolts. Those effers go all the way through, and threads don't seal all the way around- there's always a gap at the "points" of the threads on both the bolt and the nut, and oil's designed to capilary through just that kind of path. Add in the pressure of blow-by, and (as you've found) it'll drive you nuts.

I used the washer looking part of a Copper Electrical Lug as a crush washer - no leaks - Don't use any lock washers - Beware of cracks in the Aluminum tube too.

Oil return leaking w/new gasket?
Well I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tricks to cure this problem. I put a new gasket on it, and put back the bolts, and it still is leaking...
I just got another brand new gasket, and also the two tiny washers for the bolts, not sure if they actually matter or not? But I just grabbed the stuff from Eagle.
Are there any tricks to complete the seal or anything? Last time, I drained all oil, cleaned everything up from oil and stuff, used a razor to scrape clean, and replaced. This time I have the washers, maybe that'll make a small difference? Any input would be great!Thanks alot!

RTV or gasket sealer.
It's hit or miss with that.
I've had that line off 5 times on my car.
twice it leaked, 3 times it didn't.

The Crush Washers make ALL the difference - the holes in the Oil Pan are THRU holes so the Washers perform the only seal at the Bolt Holes on Flange - If you happen to strip out the Threads in the Oil Pan like I did go with American 1/4 -20 Threads - I then used the "eye" off a Copper Electrical Lug for the Crush washer - worked great - No leaks after thousands of miles. No need to drain all Oil - Just put the Front wheels on Car Ramps & you only lose about 1/2 Quart.
The POS Aluminum $50 Stock Turbo Oil Return Line is well known for developing cracks in the Flex area so that can be a PITA oil leak source too. There are better designed Aftermarket pieces out there at similar cost.

I know I am bringing this back from the way dead, but I wanted to know if the new plug fixed the leak? I have a very small drip leak around my drain plug. Just want to make sure befor I do an early oil change if this will help. How ofter should they be replaced any way?

Is this 1g or 2g?
I have a different motormite part number for a 95 turbo mitsubishi eclipse. Also wondered if the plug size you gave is for a 2g?
Edit: I do realize this is from years ago, just curoius if anybody has a part number.

It's just a copper crush washer. They should have a drawer full of them. No parts numbers.

After trying a parts store and getting a standard sized drain plug (1/2inch) I decided to goto mitsu, sure enough they gave me, yes GAVE me, a crush washer and sent me on my way, no more leak.

Oil Return Leak
Hey guys I know this subject has been covered many times, but after reading many threads about this Im still confused about one thing. Im supposed to use copper CRUSH washers under the heads of the bolts and Permatex #1 on the threads. Am i supposed to use a gasket and RTV sealant, or just RTV sealant? Or just the gasket? Anyone with experience your help is appreciated. Thanks

i didnt have any crush washers on mine just the bolts....and i used only a new gasket and had zero leaks...i personly would not use any sealant not worth the risk of dropping some in the oil return line....
