MY FIRST TURBO INSTALL
My 1990 Plymouth Laser RS turbo went out. I found a replacement
rather quickly. My friend and I put the new turbo on with hardly
any problems. Although the turbo was on I could not quite get
the oil line back on just right. The oil line leaks badly now
because the gasket sealing the line to the turbo is not sealed
very well. Anyway after it was all put on, I drove it and it ran
horible. I would make maybe a 1 pound of boost if that but since
I dont have an accurate boost gauge i dont know. My vaccume on my
stock boost gauge would be a 14lbs while at 2000rpm. The turbo
spools freely but nothing happens. If I get all the way into it
the car wants to jerk real bad. On top of that, slowing down
the car just wants to die. I also has a very ruff idle. The
tach just like to jump anywhere between 750 and 1500. The
boost being made is usually around 2000RPM, I can't feel any
difference between having the turbo in and when it was out
other than the BOV.
Any suggestions on what the problem is would be greatly appreciated
and any suggestions on how to fix it would be great thanks
