I have a 95 AWD Turbo, when at highway speeds over 60 mph I get what I'm fairly sure is explosions in the catilitic converter or somewere in the exaust system. This started after a friend borrowed the car and put in 87 ocatne fuel. Could the 87 octane be causing this problem? All help will be appreciated.

LOL!

87 octain is like putting satan in your tank, get that crap out right away..

it just pops when on cruise? or when ya let off the gas... if its whe you let off that gas thats pretty much normal.. I shoot a pretty deacent fireball when I downshift after revving a little high( 5k+) it has to do with unburnt fuel entering the exhaust system and being ignighted there by ambiant temps (i guess) its not a huge problem or anything.

more elaboration on exactly what your doing when it happens would help though..
