okay. i installed a new blitz fatt x with a greddy harness. i've never done this before but i read a lot off the forums to make sure i did it right. the harness was plug and play, i put the two black wires on ground, and the purple wire run to the emergency brake. when i turn the key back to the accessory switch, the tt activates and counts down like it should. and if i pull the parking brake down, it shuts the car off like it should, HOWEVER, if i push the key in and turn it back to off, (to remove the key and get out of the car,) the car and the tt both shut off. any idea what is wrong? thank you. i appreciate any help since i have braved the 20 degree weather at midnight to install this thing without a flashlight under my carport. thanks in advance.

HELP HELP HELP!!!!!
i just rewired the harness to match up the red with the white on the ign switch, the green with the black/white on the ign switch and the blue with the blue on the ign switch now when i put the key in and turn it to the on switch the car tries to start, before i try to start it!!!!! what is the deal!! i'm going off of the colors from the wiring information off this forum help please i need my car to work!!

According to the install instructions on Blitz's site the red wire should be connected to constant +12v (power on all the time)
It's not clear where the green and blue wires go. Turbo timers interrupt the normal ignition switch operation. The need to sense when the switch is on and to supply the ignition run signal to the car.
Trace your greddy wiring harness and figure out where everything goes. Blitz says the green wire is for the ignition and the blue wire is for accesory but I don't understand if that means the green wire is used to sense the ignition switch and the blue wire to control the vehicle.

thanks. i TOTALLY took the entire greddy harness apart, and pulled out every wire, took a picture of the way the wire's were ran on the ign. switch plug, looked at the dsmtalk forums wiring diagram for a 98 gst, and then read what my fatt x instructions said each wire was for, and re wired the harness to match up with the right wires on the ign switch, and this was the result. so i'm totally confused.

Ok, so tell be how the harness was wired to start with since that was much closer to working correctly before you changed it around.

My guess from what you wrote was that just the constant power lead was wrong.

The 2G ignition switch has 6 connectors

1 Constant Power White wire
2 IG1 (run) Black with White stripe wire
3 Not Connected
4 IG2 (run) Blue with Black stripe wire
5 Start Black with Red stripe wire
6 Accessory Blue wire

My wild ass guess is:
Blitz red should go to 1 either connector
Blitz green to 2 on ignition switch
Blitz blue to 2 on car harness

Yes I did. Notice which side of the connecting harness I said I think they should go.

I'm shooting completely in the dark since I've only installed one TT a long time ago, but from how I think they work one lead is so the TT can figure out if the ignition switch is turned to the run position, the other lead is to actually control the car by keeping power supplied even after you turn the car off untill the timer counts down.
The rest of the wires in the connecting harness should just run from the side that connects to the switch to the side that connects to the car harness. Pin 2 gets interrupted and controlled by the TT.

Does that make sense?

Steve

I'll try to simplify somewhat.

There are two power wires for many things in the car: the constant 12V+ and the Ignition 12V+. The difference is that one ALWAYS has the 12V+ while the other only has 12V+ if the key is on Acc or further. You problem is probably that the power for the TT is hooked up to the Ignition 12V+ so that when you turn the key to Off the TT loses power.

thanks to everyone for their help. i finally got it working. the deal was this... THE GREDDY HARNESS WAS WORTHLESS!! i had to COMPLETELY rewire the harness. i mean like take every single wire out and re route all of them one by one. i dont know if i'm the only one who's had problems with a greddy harness, but mine was definately crap.

sure thing man, if i can save anyone a fraction of the headache i got....

basically i assumed that the greddy harness would be plug and play like i read everywhere they were supposed to be. things i read like "dude, just get the harness, it's simple. had my install done in 5 minutes."
TOTAL CRAP. the red wire on the harness, (12v. constant) was going to the starter on the ign. the green on the harness (ign. 1) was going to the 12v. constant on the ign. and the blue was going i dont even remember where. so what i did was i thought, "okay i'll just re-wire the harness to match up with the stock plug, red on harness to white on stock ign. ,etc.,etc,etc... well what i DIDN'T know, (stupid me) was that the top left spot on the harness plug on one side should NOT go to the top left side of the other harness plug. but it SHOULD go to the bottom right side (opposite) so that's what i finally did, and that's what finally worked.:thumb:
