Okay, this will be the damndest thing that you guys have ever read on here. I just rebuilt my engine not too long ago, and I had a 16g on it. That turbo ended up falling to peices. It was brand new, and only lasted like a week. The bolt that holds the shaft and blades on, came off, and the turbo just disentegrated. I thought that it might have been a faulty turbo. My friend just did a big 16g swap from his tdo5 14b, and I put that on, his turbo was flawless, no wobble whatsoever. I just took it down the street, and presto, it made a metal grinding noise, and then quit boosting. The shaft didn't fall off of this one though. Anyway, I thought it was a clogged line. So I bought a ported nice turbo from Jeromie Hicks from NX, and replaced the oil feed line from the head, and replaced the J tube. TOAST. Then we built a turbo from a bunch of spare parts, and took the ignition coil loose so it would just crank and not start. We losened the banjo bolt that lets oil come from the head down into the line, and cranked it, and oil was coming out well. We then put the turbo on, and cranked it, and made sure oil was coming out of the J tube. I made sure that there was nothing in the way on the oil pan, to make sure that oil was returning. WE tightened the hell out of the bolt on this turbo just to make sure. When taking that turbo down the street, the shaft fell apart on that one. I am running about 15 lbs or more on boost, and have an open 3" mandrell bent down pipe. Does anybody have ANY CLUE on what in the world this phenomenon could be? Has this ever happened to anyone? OR AM I JUST DAMNED! PLEASE ADVISE, wisemen please rescue me!

Okay, to answer all your questions, yes I had a lot of turbo parts laying around, enough to where I could just keep making another one. I'd give you one, but don't expect it to last too long, LOL. Compressor surge is what a certain dsm guru thought it was. What causes this? How can I change it? I have seen cars horribly out of time before, like up to 2 or 3 teeth, and the turbo would be fine after that. The turbo's are fine when you go easy on them, but as soon as you give them some good boost, they die. I replaced the oil line, and it is now coming from the oil pump to the turbo. And please advise what "stake" means. I will try anything! Thanks for replying, you guys.
