turbo problem

When I bought my car the guy gave me a broken turbo. He never said what was wrong with it. All I know was the turbine doesnt spin. Im in the process of trying to rebuild it. Ive pulled both housing and I have taken off the compressor turbine everything on that side. Ive been following the guild on www.vfaq.com but I cant get the exhaust turbine and shaft out. anyone have any ideas on how to get it out. Is the turbo savable? Also the exhaust housing is cracked at the wastegate and wore away, can I weld that or do something to save that? Thanks for any help

i have the same prb with my 92 tsi the exhaust manifold is cracked ...leaking air and obviously hurting performance...
swap in a ported 2g exhaust manifold or better yet a EVO III manifold ..
