Really dude, you are going to delete the threads that blatantly tell this guy what he is doing will not get DOT certified, why it won't work because of how our car is designed? Photoshop request or not, this is a stupid and dangerous idea to entertain. Nevermind the clown is going to put other peoples lives at risk.
.Since the DSM already has a tiny back seat you don't need a full limo type stretch to make a useful back seat. Eight or ten more inches would provide for a normal size back seat. The trick to making it work would be fabricating the rear doors to conform to the car.
As far as safety goes; hot rodders have been chopping, channeling, stretching, and shortening cars for the last half century. It may be a novel thought in the DSM world but it is old hat to this old red neck.
Nissan has a new car on the market that could be some inspiration. The Juke is a four door with the rear door handles concealed to make it look like a two door sport coupe.

thanks snowborder, it really upsets me how this site has gone from nothing but people wanting to help and give positive comments to people hating on others just because they are going in a little different direction than they would. as far as framing it up for the extra support all precautions will be taken to assure that frame rigidity is as good if not better than stock. and i personally wont be doing the welding i have a friend that is D.0.T. certified to weld gas tankers and semi's so the welds will be perfect or i will grind them out and have him do it again. thanks jeff for the photo but i was kinda wanting a shorter version and it only like a half door. but it kinda puts it into perspective a little more. i just dont want to be like my mom and have to get rid of my little sports car because my kids have out grown it. also off topic i am a redneck and proud of it. but this car will pass D.O.T. certifications before i put my family in it.
