"Owner of the Black Mitsubishi Eclipse, California Plates 3KLP461, Please report to your car, it is being burned in the parking lot."

Looks like ass with shit stains to anyone that doesn't have a visual impairment.

Agreed. Keep away from bodykits please...
Full 2gb dsm + some nice 17x8 wheels = teh sex.

Wow, there are some very nice kits. Still not sure why some guys are just anti-anything but stock??? Someone fill me in.

Numerous Reasons. Its like Venting a BOV without SD or MAF Translator. First off it looks like ass 95% of the time. Causes the cars body to be lower than it should be which makes your car look like you could fit super swamper tires in the fender wells because you can't lower it. It looks like Ass. Also, the money spent on a body kit could be spent on turning a DSM into a pro drag car! LOL. The money spent repairing the damaged caused from city streets could be spent to put your kid into college! Its pointless. Heavy. Looks Like Ass. Ruins the car's image.

There are only about 2 good looking body kits, 3 but the 3rd one is a one off kit made by the cars owner and its the excuse. Those two are rare and pricey. Then after you pay for the expensive body kit, you have to do body work to work out the defects, because no body kit is perfect from the manufacture. Then you have to primer, and paint! After that you have to maintain it to keep it looking good. Because a body kit lowers the body of the car almost 3" more or less to the ground, without actually lowering the car, so you bring the car that much lower which brings you that much closer to damage from speed bumps, stupid rabbits that love to follow headlights and other stupid bs that "MIGHT" happen. Also since you can't lower the car, you can install 18" wheels and still have a 3" wheel/fender gap which is almost as much as my rock crawling toyota LOL.

I can think of more reasons. Those are mine! BTW, it looks like ASSSSS! Might as well set the car on fire now and save the trouble.

I agree. Spending the money on some nice aftermarket wheels would look SOOOO much better than a body kit with stock wheels.

Its funny how you are the same guy in the photoshop forum that thinks it's fine to vent ot atmosp. There are way more than 2 nice bodykits out there...... Although funny, the pics you posted couldn't be farther from the truth. And when someone respected on here (99gst_racer) puts graphics on, no one says anything. I've always said I like things that are differnt yet clean. Can alot of others say that? :notgood:

Yeah I love venting my bov! :nono: Never once said I think its fine to vent.

Do you honestly think 99gst_racer has gone a day without hearing someone calling him a stupid ####ing ricer? Honestly? Cause if you do...

Even he got rid of the blitz front end and wiped some sweat of his brow and said "fwew".

Plus, out of respect for 99gst_Racer, he's no ordinary person. Just take a glance through the DSMtuners photo gallery. You'll hardly find another car like his. When he does something, he finishes it. He perfects it! Others just bolt on the damn body kit and drive it around multi colored and damaged. 99gst_Racer is someone that puts pride into his car and spares no expense! He converts his GST to a AWD, He twin Turbo's his car, builds high quality motors. Name another that does that without "HAVING" to think about it? I know of one other that comes to mind, but I don't know the owner. I just know the car was impounded from some drug dealer and was a riced, shaved, molded, orange, 800hp toyota supra. Thats it.

There are a select hand full of people on DSMTuners that can and have done it right, and it doesn't touch double digits!

Talk about stretching it.... So you're saying that only a small percentage of people actaully have the body kit installed professionally then painted.... That is not the case at all.

And you are saying since "racer" has a quick car that is painted that makes it not rice? But if a N/T guy did it, it would be rice. Correct???

No! I'm saying live in an area where DSM's are continuously destroyed by people who put nasty shit that will honestly make you puke, on their car in the idea that it looks good and people like it.

Look at EDM's car. He's a NT. However his side skirts are paint matched to the car and aren't hanging off cause he half assed anything. I do dislike how he only has side skirts and stock front and rear bumper because it makes the car look uneven.

But do like I said, browse the Gallery and you'll see. Unpainted, un molded body kit after body kit, destroying the original sexy looks of a DSM, or any car! I feel the same about any car. I've installed a few Body kits at the shop because I was being paid to do it. But it was being done right, molded and installed properly and right after I was done, a body shop would go through and work on it and paint it. But I have also installed a couple body kits on customer cars and to this day I'll see them driving around, no paint, no primer, one side hanging lower than the other and just completely uneven.

When you see the amount of trash that I do, You'd understand. And the sad part is that 90% of the trash I've seen, is DSM Related! Not Honda Civics or Integra's, Eclipse's! Talons!

My old 97 GS. I bought it because I was desperate. My 98 GST was impounded and crushed. Had a Urethane bomex front bumper on it, primered, but damaged up the ass. They used wood screws to screw the body kit in, which seized up so I had to cut the body kit off. They drilled Tweeters into the door panels and into the center of the dash and it had a damaged hatch from a park bench wing.

Thats the trash I see every day countless times. And I will sign the title to my car, to bet that this is the same reason all the other 98% of DSM guys hate body kits and vouch against it. Because they see that nothing ever gets done right and then the car is left looking like pure shit.

What. Your guys argument is kind of confusing. So you guys are saying a evo 9 with a c west body kit is riced or not. Because it looks pretty nice. Or the Charge Speed subies are riced also. *scratches head*

It all depends on the person. But what Purpose does it serve except weigh the car down? I think when done right, its not rice, its nice. Since you mentioned CWest. CWest makes some insane 240SX Body kits that give off a gorgeous aero look. Looks alot better than stock. I think an evolution with a body kit should be burned. Even if the Evo is putting down 900hp. but if its done right, I wont bi*** about it.

It is a personal preference honestly, But the reason most people will vouch and say "dont do it" when it comes to body kits, is because we see too many people half assing installs. And Even if you do it right, you risk body damage because you can't lower the car but yet the car is soo low, you have to be on alert 24/7 for speed bumps, pot holes, anything else that you could possibly hit that body kit and damage it, costing the owner money on repairs, assuming he repairs it.
