First Day With The D40!

Got my Nikon D40 in the mail today So of course i took a ton of pictures and none of them turned out good. I have no clue how to use the thing yet. All these were taken in auto mode with the kit lense.

The next lens on your list should be the new 35mm 1.8!! I believe it's AF-S, so it will focus on your D40. Congrats

Get a prime lens and it's night and day clarity wise from a kit lens. Oh and shoot in Av mode and .raw or the nikon variant.

T Money, I think for fresh out of the package those pics rock. I was just scrolling along... ahh, nice tree, nice turtle, nice Wingless GSX... and then boom I busted out laughing. Caught me off guard.

Try working with water, flowing water. The lens flares from random light sources, the transparent of the liquid and then freezing it in time with the camera, really shows how great the camera is.

My main thing with camera's is it has to take night time photos without flash. I wanna start doing HDR with Night time photos.

Thanks Guys. Yea this camera is alot of fun. Here are some more form this afternoon.Shoot these in Manual mode and RAW but didnt really do anything with them in Ps.
