Have seen these cameras advertised a lot, and keep looking at this one specifically:

Motorsports HERO WIDE camera

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of them and what they thought of them. Just thought it could be fun for filming some drag runs or whatever else I do.

I haven't had any experience with them, but from the specs it looks pretty decent. The resolution is a little low, but that is to be expected with a wireless camera. The setup with the mounts looks pretty good, though. Seems like it would be a cool little camera to have around to document your times out on the track, also looks like it could make for some good views for a video compilation :rocks:

EDIT: Also, after seeing the price, $200 isn't bad at all for something like that. I'd say go for it if it seems like something you would like to have. Its flash memory also, so bumps and vibrations won't affect it (although I would hope not since it is designed for motorsports use).

We actually sell these at the bike shop that I work at and we have taken one out on some quads and street bikes and did some shooting. For the price they are real good. Quality isn't that bad either. The hardest part is getting the camrea at the right angle because there is no screen on the camera. So you have to play with it on a mount. Do a little filming and then check the postion of the camera on a computer. If you have a laptop this will make it much easier because you can do all of this in your car. The biggest thing is making sure the mount is tight so that the camera doesn't move around. I've been thinking about buying one of these for the same purpose. For the price they are a great buy it just takes some time playing around with.

I bought one last night. So far, I'm quite happy with it. I can't wait to get my Eclpse back on the road and make a few video's with it.

Video quality is very nice. Audio is a bit lacking, but I haven't adjusted it yet. The suction mount is very strong and well-designed. I have mine suctioned upside down right now at my house to see how long it will stay like that. And man, this thing is tiny! It should fit just about anywhere.

PS - If you buy one, make sure you use lithium rechargeable batteries. The vibration will kills standard batteries very quickly.
