Let me be the first to say I might not be there tomorrow night.
Just kidding...scheduled to attend tomorrow. See you there?
For those of you who always forget this meet you can click the link in the top right of this thread and you can choose to send yourself a reminder each month before the event.

Look at the "Upcoming Events" at the top of the Phoenix Area DSM Forum page. It shows the dates of anything scheduled in this area including the meet tonight. It is always the second Thursday of the month.
This is the only regular DSM meet in Phoenix and it's been going for probably 11-12 years at least. Other events like the Scottsdale Pavillions Car Show are hit and miss to find DSM owners.

Are there any other times that people get together here in AZ aside from the 2nd Thursady?
I attend the Pavilions Car show pretty regularly if anyone wants to meet up on Saturdays there after 5pm.

Do you know when about? Every time I've shown up so far around 4-5pm
there is nothing but a bunch of civic's and 240's there.

The Pavilions Car Show has a 21-year tradition of featuring American muscle cars and vintage classic automobiles. They could care less if modern era imports where there and in fact at times have banned them due to the juvenile behavior exibited by too many of their owners.
We did have several meets there years ago with 20-30 cars in attendance when Will from Desert Diamonds made special arrangements for several related clubs to join together and fill up the "club rows". Sorry but these days you won't get that many DSM owners together anywhere in Arizona unless you pay them to attend.
DSM meets are great when you can get enough people to show up but don't expect to dominate any existing shows around here.

That is really sad, all those cars and now nothing. I would pay people to show up if I had the cash too.

That was me in my old 1gb Talon in that video.
I have to agree with Dave the DSM scene is slowly fading out. The type of owners has changed quite a bit and that has lead to less and less participation in events. I even organized a cruise a few years back that was a full day and went across the northern part of the state. I would never even try to organize that again. To many flakey people and to many people trying to prove something instead of just enjoying others company.

You can check out other past events at the bottom of this page.

We used to do quite a bit of meets with 10-15 cars and they were a lot of fun. The cruise Michael put together was a blast but it's just too hard to get a large group of people to commit to an event these days. The Thursday night meets have survived somehow but many times I have been there with only 2-3 other people.
It might be better to have informal bi-monthly meets at or near the Pavilions in Scottsdale so the word gets out that for instance, the second Saturday night of each odd numbered month is always a meet. If only a few people show up they could still check out the action at the Pavilions so it's not a wasted trip if someone drove a long way to get there. You also have to promote it heavily on many DSM forums and remind people often that a meet is approaching. Just my thoughts on the matter.

We used to gather at Scottsdale Community College just two miles south since it has easy freeway access and is nearly empty on weekends. It was a quick group cruise up the freeway from there to the PAVs.
All that is needed is someone to pick the dates and locations, talk it up and then post reminders to all of the forums and groups a week or so before the event. My days as unofficial team leader are behind me. I know without one person to push the event it will not happen.
