Looks like I am going to need some possibly expensive repairs to my '99 GSX (clutch/trans, something wrong with heater/defroster, belt/engine squeal, general maintenance I've been putting off like timing chain...).

I've been disillusioned lately with the shop I have been using for the last couple years, besides being kind of expensive they just don't seem that good/conscientious & I'm not sure I want to keep using them.

I'm curious if anyone up here has any recommendations for repair places in Philly area.

I live in Montgomery County, near Harleysville, Schwenksville, Collegeville, and a lot of other "villes" and am looking for something close to me.

I'd especially like to find a place that has a shopping center or mall nearby, or is in a city center, because most days I can't just drop the car off and come back later, I have to hang out and wait for it. The place I use now is very convenient and has a big shopping center across the street where I can hang out in comfort and work on my laptop in a free cafe with internet access.

My priorities are to find a place that does decent work #1, won't rip me off or charge inflated prices #2, but if it fits with what I need to be able to work while the car is in there that is a huge plus too.

Thanks!!!! I've bought some supplies from JNZ before. I hadn't even thought of them, was thinking they were just for mods! I just looked at their website and am surprised to see that they not only do stuff like timing belts, trans rebuilds, etc but they even list prices that aren't too bad (but I think it doesn't include parts ?). I think I will call them! Thanks again...

Have had a great experience with JNZ. They did a ton of work and I am very impressed, would recommend them to anyone.

Never had an experience like this with a mechanic or anything else similar, like a plumber for instance - showing you all the parts etc before things are replaced, explaining everything, giving you options, and going an extra mile too doing other stuff beyond the call of duty. Plus all at reasonable prices.

My car is on the mend, fingers crossed...
