I'm new to this site and I need some help, i've looked all over this forum and there's many similar cases but none like mine, I have a 99' gsx eclipse and I'm not getting spark to my 1st and 4th cylinders, i did a test and i'm getting the 12 volts to the ignition coil it just isnt putting anything out, i"ve replaced:
-ecu
-transistor
-ignition coil
-cps
-cas
-and i've followed the wiring in the whole harness and cant find anything wrong

the situation was my car just randomly died one day and when i started tearin into it i noticed a serpentine belt was gone and my timing belt was chewed up (bent valves) so I had the head redone and i replaced my timing belt and all of these other parts, I have no idea where to look now please help!!! need the car by the time winter hits

Oh and should I be checking the voltage on the ecu or the plug? I don't get how I test for it I'm not good with electrical

And just for an fyi to everyone reading this, his replaced ecu was my stock one which worked perfectly on my car when it was stock, changed to eprom for dsmlink. i can guarintee the ecu was/is a known good ecu. Is he saying check the harness pin? Or the ecu pin?

Oh I forgot to mention my car is an automatic and Kyle's (bought the ecu from) is a manual, would that make a difference?

I figured out the issue, car is running now, there was a bolt missing, the one that holds the rotating piece on the end of the cam shaft so the sensor wasn't able to read it, the shop that re did my head forgot to give me that bolt back so I didnt know it was missing, thanks everyone for the help!

ok so the car started but now it wont again and I didnt even get to drive it!!! :( it seems like the car is flooding but when I let it sit and go back out to start it it'll crank over and started up but i have to be pushing on the gas to keep it running, the moment i let off it dies then I cant start it again until i let it sit

Do this go out turn the key to where the dash lights come on (check engine) make sure the check engine light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds if it doesnt or comes on then with in a second shuts back off then you can pretty much guarantee that the ecu isnt communicating anymore and you need a new one or send it in to ecmtuning.com like i said tho my 1g did the exact same thing and i replaced all that was listed. good luck.
