my 4g63 motor is toast. I found a motor in keizer that is already pulled, but the guy doesnt know if it was 4g63 or 4g63t. it is from a 92 eclipse, so that didnt help me. Is there a way to tell by looking at it? or does anyone else around have a 4g63 motor they are selling?

I have about 8 blocks in my garage. A few that are ready to run bottom ends.

You can tell possibly by if it has a knock sensor on the back, a turbo drain line on the oil pan, if the pan is off look for oil quirters that point to the bottom of the pistons. I'm sure there are other ways to tell. The throttle body is different as well. I'd assume its a N/T since he's giving you the line of "I dont know".....

PM me for details on my motors if you want.

I haven't checked closeup personally but I've seen a N/T 4G63 before. I may be off but wouldn't a N/T 4G63 be the same as a turbo 4G63? Except for no turbo/O2 housing and instead of an exhaust manifold, has a header? I didn't think about the oil pan area but if he was just looking for the engine itself, the oil pan wouldn't be an issue anyway right?

bjsharp85, I don't know how much is "toast" but is the exhaust manifold, turbo/O2 housing, downpipe, and oil pan in good shape? If so, I would think every thing else that has to do with the engine would be the same. Of course not SMIC, BOV, etc. but again that isn't actually part of the engine.

The non turbo motors have a different compression ratio that is higher due to being naturally aspirated. The piston rod combo is different from the turbo non turbo bore is teh same.

Rods are the same, n/t have no oil squirter's, different cams, 9.0-1 compression, no oil cooler, different throttle body, different oil pan, and of course no Turbo.
