DSMers around Portland
Hey all,
New to the forums and the area but I figured I would post a thread here, we got any DSMers in or around Oregon City or even to Portland? I went cruising last night and it was sad to not have a group of peeps to roll with and hardly a guy around to race or mess with. I have a crew back home for fall and spring driving but nothing here so I was hoping to get together with some peeps around here! Let me know whos around and where to go to meet peeps on the weekends, im bored as hell without a crew to roll with!

Hey man, I live on the back side of Oregon City next to Clackamus community college (although I'm moving to Tualatin this summer). So are you from Bozeman normally and just staying in the Oregon City area...?

I have an internship in the summers here in Oregon so I live in Oregon City during the summer, then I go back to school in Bozeman in the winter for school. Let me know if you would like to roll around sometime, I live near the movie theater there on the top of the hill so we are fairly close. Just let me know man!

Right on. I'm just reciently starting a vehicle bad luck streak...last week, driving back from Estacada at dusk, hit a deer @ 55 in my Taco folding in the drivers door...front bumper grill saved by the bull bar. After Memorial Weekend I dump the Taco off at Kedel's Autobody, pick up my DSM with new alternator installed and BAM, blew the battery...I'm all out of vehicles right now...

Awesome, I am all for meeting up and cruising! I am in the process of putting a new suspension on and finishing painting my factory rims but that should be done by Saturday if everything goes well. The car is running kinda crappy ### my injectors are overloading so I had to turn the boost down but I can still roll around a bit! Let me know what you guys are thinkin for cruising this weekend, Ill see if I can make an apperance. Would be great to get out and connect with you guys! Sorry bout the deer and battery issue, let me know if you need a hand with anything, I know how to turn a wrench ! Hope to talk to you guys soon...

Ha! The Taco should have been out of Kedel's autobody yesterday but it'll be until Friday afternoon before it's done because the insurance co. was dragging it's ass. They sent me down to the Enterprise Rental to get a car and all they had left was a full size Dodge Hemi pickup...which nobody wanted because of the price of gas, so I took it...this puppy has some balls...any takers wanna race...?
I got the DSM running w/ new batt and alt, just in constant fuel cut. Had Hahn send me another FCD 2day UPS so it should be here tomorrow. My next project was installing strut tower bars and coil-overs which will have to wait for next week....

You too with the fuel cut huh?!? I can't figure out why my shit is doing it and it is really irritating me! I keep getting told I have a Boost leak but I have also been told that my injectors are overloading so I don't know... I hate the idea of doing a Boost Leak test ### I don't have the proper stuff to do the test but I guess I will have to bite the bullet. I am actually about to do a set of Tokico shocks and springs on my car. I have the parts just need to get the spring compressor from auto zone and install them. Maybe we could help each other out on the job I may attempt the springs this weekend depending on the weather, let me know if your interested!

I am local. I live in tigard off 99. As soon as my car is done I will be at the track every weekend and maybe wensday. I would like to organize some meets and maybe some cruises. I use to do alot of meets and cruise when I owned my STi. Anyone running a 50 trim around here? I am always doing work on the car and motor and know a good amount about these cars. Hit me up if you need help or a place to wrench. Oh anyone running with BC 272's?

Hey I'm Ruben, I live in Salem but I work in Canby and I also have a 97 GSX, I'm also part of tunner coalition there with marcelo, I can help you with the fuel cut issue, I have a boost leak tester I made myself, although I'm pretty sure your problem is the injectors, how much boost are you running and also what size are your injectors?

Trejo: That would be awesome if I could get a hand with the boost leak issue. Let me know when would be a good time. I was running 16 lbs of boost with the stock t-25 and stock injectors when fuel cut became an issue (but had ran fine back home in montana with it like that). I have ECU+ and am working on making the money for injectors and fuel pump set up but it would be nice to Boost Leak test it just to see. I was actually thinking about buying a Boost Leak Tester but no point if I find someone to help me out!
TN: Careful about the place to wrench, I might just take you up on it... Living with the family that definately does not have the right facility or tools for the job... currently doing a suspension swap in front of the house (yes infront, not in the driveway!) and I have been trying really hard to make some friends who could tell me where to go/wrench with. Let me know when you start hitting up the track I would be down to come check it out.
Yeah anyway, seriously let me know if anyone is going to the track this weekend or anything, if i get my suspension done on friday I would be willing to roll around a little bit anyway!

Charging problems...
I don't mind helping turn a wrench but I have no shop. My buddies shop I use has almost everything I need...but is outside of Sherwood...
Well my fuel cut issue seems to have turned out to be more of a charging system/voltage issue where the fuel pump is starving. I doubt I will replace my Hahn FCD as my OBDII scanner showed cylinder misfires (P300/1/2/3/4) which I think will be from the starving injectors. I have just replaced the ECU on a pretty good $200 core-swap deal to get over the failing voltage regulator which for some reason was placed in my ECU AllComputer. The battery I have in there was a temp purchase from the gas station/repair shop I towed it to and I will replace that today with a optima redtop to remove all doubt. I did buy an ebay voltage stablizer for $15 that I thought I would wire in for extra current if/when needed...
But I finally did buy a kit on ebay someone throws together: 2G DSM Eclipse 3000GT OBDII Datalogger logger OBD2 so I can finally see more detail of the issues I am dealing with because I am tired of guessing...
My suspension will have to wait maybe for this weekend...
