new to portland

Hi everyone, I just moved to portland from flint mi and i was interested in finding out where some goodshops and other places are. I just got here monday and moved in with my brother and friend. Driving from Flint MI to portland OR in a talon is not the most comfortable drive in a talon heh. So 2600 miles later i have found myself in a new city which seems pretty sweet but i currently have no idea where any places are to get car parts. Are there certain junkyards that would be easier than others to find dsms in? Which speedshops around have dsm and turbo stuff? Are there any gas stations where gas that is higher than 92 octane can be had (its weird that i cant pump my own gas in this state, but the prices are better than back home so im not complaining)?
We just have a covered car bay and i am by no means a master mechanic but i do have a decent amount of car stereo experience (worked at circuit city for 3 years and am starting at best buy on monday) and ive always fixed my own car, so if there are any local members around who need an extra hand with anything where i could help feel free to either PM me or message me on aim; spatulahunter is my screen name.

By the way portland is an awesome area. I went snowboarding and skateboarding both yesterday and its the middle of the summer. I think im gonna like living here.

As far as shops I would get ahold of lucas english www.englishracing.net he is out of the camas/washougal area. He is pretty much the dsm guru around those areas. http://www.torquefreaks.com/ is good but pricey and they have awd dyno.
