I'm rebuilding and porting a 14b turbo for my 2g. When I dissasembled it, I stupidly forgot to scribe a mark on the compressor wheel, shaft and nut. The exhaust wheel is still attached to the shaft. Where can I get the turbo balanced in the east bay area or do I even need to balance it? Thanks for any suggestions

EDIT

Here is their website and phone number for my fellow Bay Area DSMers.

I believe Terry is the Owner/Manager. He's a good guy. Labor is expensive though, I think it was about $100 and hour. If you do bring your turbo in and want to spend a little less money, clean it yourself and leave it disassembled. Just a tip.

Since nobody had any ideas, so I might as well post what I found. I took it to Diamond Diesel, in Oakland. Cost $137 to do it and about 4 business days. So far, the turbo has run flawlessly.

Thats nice to know that someone does it locally! Last time i checked the only good option was to send it out to FP and that's kind of a biotch.

YOu should post up the address and/or phone number in here so when people search they know where to go.

wow, I really thought you were SOL when I first saw this thread.

sweet, thanks for the great find.
