i just got my gs yesterday and im planning to do the bolt on turbo thing. i was wondering if you guys knew any good shops in the bay area that can do the whole thing for me since im new to this whole mechanical thing....i read the article on dsmtuners on how to do the mod, but i dont think i woudl acually be able to do it myself so i need some professional help! thanks

If I was you, I wouldn't bother. Turboing an N/T is a waste of money seeing as the money spent could have went to a turbo DSM to begin with...

If all else fails, there's always Paul (Newlogics on here) and http://www.fftec.com Sean and the boys know their stuff.

i wish i could buy a gsx, but my dad bought me the car so id think hed be mad if he i sold it. plus its a pretty clean car and 77k miles. thanks for the info about that shop though.

yea they would. they are a full performance shop and can do it. i suggest you call and speak with one of their guys, they are good to work with

cool, once i get all my parts i am going to call them immediately. thanks

the car is for sale for $8500. only got 76k miles :thumb: 6 bolt swap built motor and it was professionally done by none other than fftec. you shoul really think about it. but yea fftec is the way to go. they know their stuff.

fftec is a good place i havent gotten anything done there but i've spoke with nate that works there and he knows his stuff not too sure about his dsm know how but his all around auto experience makes him trustworthy in my book

alright, first off, bubba i think your gsx will be too expensive for me :[
i have one last question on this topic. would it be better to buy my own parts and give to fftec and tell them to put it together or woudl they be able to get everything and put it together? thanks

Are you aware that your car will no longer be able to pass smog visually? Unless you know "a guy" then be prepared to put your car back to stock every couple of years.

That's one of the big things that deterred me from putting a hahn turbo kit on my RS.

i would definately give them a call. they may be able to help you out wiht your goal rather than just putting together a turbo kit. that way you can have a kit that meets your specific needs, not a general one.

Just wondering...any thoughts on Pro Street Motorsports (prostreetonline.com). I'm also looking to have some tuning and various other work done to my GSX (broken manifold stud, timing belt, cut n weld exhaust, oil/boost leak, etc).

Advice on where to go would be great, I'll have to look into FFTEC some more too.

I guess these guys do it all eh, I should give them a call. I need someone to help me fix, a few oil leaks :)

DO NOT GO TO PROSTREET every DSM car that has gone there has come out with problems, BIG problems. If you care about your car, don't go to them.

FFTEC :thumb: they do great work, machine work, custom work, you name it. Almost every car that goes there have 400+hp LOL. A+

ha prostreet:tease: :tease: :tease: man that's funny

I've never heard anything about Prostreet, but than again they don't really specialize in DSMs all that much right?

I'm personally getting work done at Newlogics, I've only heard good things about them even though it's a small shop.

They used too, its alot of drama and shit that the older bay area croud would rather not discuss on the boards but needless to say some shady shit went down and if you like your car/parts back/in one peice/not missing anything don't take your car to prostreet. You are asking for trouble if you do. You don't have to beleive me not many due but they come back and say "you told me so" later.

Just got my GSX back from Sean and the guys at FFTEC. I must say I am very pleased with not only the quality of work but the knowledge and friendliness of the staff, especially Sean. Highly recommended!
