TCRA has a track event at SOW on 5/7 and 5/8 if anyone's interested in tracking their car.
http://www.touringcarclub.com/events/events_next.shtml

Here's the price and brief description of the different groups:

1 Day Open Track: $125, 2 Day Open Track: $175
Open to all street cars that can pass tech. Tech is pretty minimal, it's just regular stuff you'd want on a safe street car (like sufficient pad thickness, no leaks etc etc).
Open to drivers of any level experience. Instructors will be around to give you pointers if you need them.
Overtaking only in designated passing zones.
M rated helmets are ok, but SA is highly recommended.

1 Day Time Trials: $125, 2 Day Time Trials: $175
Open to all cars that pass tech, but requires proof of track experience. Typically faster cars/drivers than those in the Open Track group.
Overtaking only in designated passing zones.
Requires SA rated helmet and gloves.

2 Day Driving School: $250
Open to all cars that pass tech and drivers of any level experience.
In between track sessions, you also get classroom sessions that cover basic car control (eg. heel toe, weight transfer etc), racing line, track etiquette, flags etc. First on track session is lead follow, where you putt around the track behind the instructors cars. After that, you're free to drive at speed. You can also request an instructor to ride along with you or drive your car. You get a TCRA novice time trial license and $100 off the next 2 day event upon graduation. (Btw, "graduation" just means you don't do something really stupid and wreck your car, which you wouldn't want in the first place)
Overtaking only in designated passing zones (after the lead follow session of course).
M rated helmets are ok, but SA is highly recommended. There's probably a couple loaner helmets sitting around available to students.

1 Day Gymkhana/Drifting plus 1 Day Open Track: $150
Too lazy to type, so here's a linky
http://www.touringcarclub.com/event...ana_drift.shtml
Basically you get to practice drifting on the skid pad 1 day, then run in the open track group 1 day. Btw, I don't recommend this at all because I tried it once and it sucked a$$ mainly because of the AWD (my crappy driving didn't help either I guess :p). I imagine it wouldn't be too fun in a FWD car either.

1 Day Race: $145, 2 Day Race: $210
Open to race prepped cars only. Requires full 6 point cage, kill switch, window net etc. Must have a competition license from TCRA or other club (SCCA, BMWCCA, POC etc)
Open passing, but no bumping. No contact rule strictly enforced (you may get kicked off the track, depending on the situation)
Drivers must have all the safety equipment (SA helmet, full nomex race suit etc).

Lunch time parade lap: Free for anyone willing to drive out there
Open to anyone that wants to drive on the track at low speed during lunch break. No passing anywhere. May or may not have this session, depending on whether there's a special event during lunch or not. There's supposedly some guy coming out from Japan that's gonna do a drifting exhibition on the track this time. Not sure if that's going through or not though.

Welp, that's the low down! I help them out with random stuff so they OK'd a small discount of $5 towards 1 day events for dsmtuners members that register before 4/30 (just mention dsmtuners when you register). I know it's not much, but I guess you can think of it as free lunch LOL
If we can get a group of 10 or more, there's a $50 discount (or something like that) towards the 2 day track events.

Feel free to PM me or post here if you have any questions

Don't worry about it, if you get your car running and feel like coming out, feel free to just come on over. I'll ask them to put you down as a tentative so you won't get charged the late fee for trackside signup. No problem if you don't show up either :)

So far there's only 2 entrants in the open track group this sunday (me and some guy in a Corvette). There'll probably be a couple more signing up at the track, most likely not more than 5 or so though. There's also going to be a race group (15 or so people) and a drifting group (10 or so people), only 3 groups means lots of track time for everyone. The time trial group was cancelled because no one signed up. So if anyone's not doing anything for Mother's Day and wants some massive track time, come on out. I'll be helping them with registration so just mention dsmtuners and I'll hook you up with free trackside tech and no late entry fee.
