Just got one quick question about noooosssssssss :D I have no intention of putting it on my car but what is the difference between a dry system and a wet system?

thanks

note: not sure if this is the right forum, because its a newb question and a nitrous question

a dry system is just that, a dry shot of nitrous into your intake

a wet system shoots nitrous and fuel into your intake so you dont run lean
i prefer dry because gas pools up in your intake with a wet shot and can explode

All I have to say is ask NosLaser.......he absolutely knows everything about nitrous. I give him mad props for his reputation. What he says goes dude trust me.

Thanks for the compliment. ;)

The short and sweet definition is a dry kit simply sprays a controlled amount of nitrous into the intake tract and a wet kit sprays a controlled amount of nitrous and fuel into the intake tract. All nitrous kits except for the sneaky pete system which NOS makes and is for use with carburated cars only have provisions for added fuel. A wet kit adds fuel by actually tapping into the fuel feed line and acting as an additional fuel injector. A dry kit adds additional fuel by spraying a controlled amount of nitrous into the fuel pressure regulator thus bumping fuel pressure up to safe levels. A wet kit is much better for use with a turbo car, and a dry kit is ideal for a naturally aspirated car. Greathuskie was correct to an extent abou fuel puddling, although if done correctly, you'll never have to worry about puddling. Nitrous kits are tuned rather well from the factory, and with proper nozzle placement, you'll get good, safe results. If you have more specific quesitons, feel free to ask.

Honestly, I wish more people were like you. Gather as much information as possible, learn the ins and outs of each system, decide which will work best for your application, and it will make your experience with nitrous SO much more pleasureable. Look at Dave Buschur. Going a few years back, all the articles you see have Dave talking about how much he hates nitrous, would never use it again, had nothing but bad luck, it doesn't work on DSM's, etc. Nw he's an avid user, as is just about every other fast DSM guy. That's because back then, he didn't know how it fockig worked! I definately applaud anyone who takes the time to learn BEFORE they just try to slap it on, and wonder why it doesn't.

Regards,
