Friend running NOS on non turbo accord, will it last.

My friend is going to run a 55 shot of dry intake ZEX nitrous on his automatic 95 four door stock accord with 195,000 miles on it. I dont know alot about NOS but i dont think its going to last long or it may break is engine after a while. I told him he may want to upgrade cams and fuel injector, pistons, houses, just stuff to support the extra HP, but he says he dont need too, he dont listin he said all the honda forum guys told him that he can run it as much as he wanted and he wouldnt have any problems. All he has is a CIA, cat back exhaust, and a aftermarket header. If u NOS experts can give me some feedback or links or some Pro and Cons,if it good or bad, i would greatly appriciate it, if u can provide me some proof to show him that he is wrong or if he is right that would be great. thanks.
 
Ive seen cars older than that run a 55 shot fine, and Ive seen cars much younger blow up b/c of it. It depends on how the engine has been treated and maintained. He doesnt really need any supporting parts to run such a small shot. He will have to buy a blow-down kit if he plans on taking it to the track, and he should get a gauge if he doesnt have one already. But with almost 200k miles on a damn Honduh, who cares if it blows up or not? :p

my friend has a 95 civic coupe, and when he first got the car he hooked up nos but it was like an 80 shot or somthing like that and he ran it for about 8k miles before he blew his motor... he had about 115k on it at the time... 200k ... i wouldn't without supporting mods... tell him to search on honda-tech.com i'm sure everyone there will say that it's not a good idea without doing some upgrades first...
 
I had a 95 delsol with 180,000. I was going to put a new motor in it so i figured what the heck I will see what this thing will do. car made 6 passes on a 75 shot before it blew up and caught the whole car on fire.

going down the highway at 110mph on fire is a wild experience, still have a few scars.

nothing left of the car so, no new motor and never really figured out what happened.

and yes I still love nitrous, put it on everything
 
I ran 75 shot on my old 2gnt. It used a wet shot so I didnt need to worry about fuel problems. Only other mods I had were a cat-back,CAI and a bottle heater. Just start out low and work your way up. And check those spar plugs every so ofton

But the lack of fuel is caused by the nitrous. ;)

EDIT: O.K, the lack of fuel is caused by the fuel system not being able to keep up, but the lack of fuel is caused by there being 3 times (just pulling 3x our of my arse) more air then normal, due to the nitrous.
 
haha yeah tru tru. but if you go nitrous you should def upgrade ur fuel system to be safe...but with a small shot it shouldnt be a problem

my point tho was that nitrous is no harm given enough supply of fuel which ever way you choose to accomplish that
 
i have a friend that has a 97 honda civic hx coupe
which has a 1.6L vtec-e the most crapiest vtec motor

i install and tune a zex dry 55 shot on it first
he went through 4 bottles

now i install and tune a jg wet single nozzle kit on it
80 jetting and hes on his 7 bottle


my advice get it tune!

i guess i can call it the nitrous test.
 
A friend of mine has a Stock F22 Accord with an Intake, Zex Dry Kit, Zex Plugs, and Bottle heater. He has been running a 65 shot for about 6 months and has not had any problems. His motor has 165,000+ miles.
