Have a bad wheel bearing that's bad in the rear of my awd.the bearing is stuck on the axel.I have used a 3 jaw puller to try to get it off and also pb blaster.I have also took it to pepboys and had them try to press it off with 2000# press and still won't budge any other ideas.need to get it off asap.thanks in advance

Not that this is good news; but all of my axles have been stuck in my hubs on my 97 AWD.

I took them to work where we have lots of presses for assembling parts. With an oxy/acetylene torch it took @ 15,000lb to get my axle to pop out.

My advice; you'll need alot more than a 1 ton press to get them apart.

ps. use antisieze when you put them back together.

I have used a mini propaine torch and had it on it for over a half hour and didn't do crap to it.also I don't have axces to any bigger torches or heavy presses.any other ideas or places I can take it to and have them get it off

best guess is to go yellow pages under machine shop and ask if they have a 50 ton press.

don't limit it to automotive machine shops either.

Had one stock in my 95 AWD and 20 tons and a torch were too much. The end of the axle collapsed around the holes for the cotter pin. Be careful! ;)

thread a nut onto the axle end to protect the threads.

I'm not sure what they changed about 2g's but all of the axles are a PITA to get apart.

Same thing happened to me.
I used 20 ton press and anything else you could possible think of.
I ended up just buying a new axle. Expensive... But if you need your car going, it's the only real way unless you feel like spending 2 weeks going from shop to shop.

This.

A good shop with an OxyAcetylene torch should be able to get it apart.

I had a bearing basically melt to a spindle on my truck, and this was the only option.

Also Raxles.com will sell you just the outboard end of your halfshaft. Forget how much it was but it's cheaper than the whole thing.

any other ideas
Yeah, try searching these forums before you post.
Do you think you're the first person to have an issue with this? Wouldn't you think it would be smart to search, read, and learn, instead of making another post and having us explain the same things over and over again...

It would also help if you spelled it correctly. You wont find anything under "seized axel", but you will find results for "seized axle".
