ecu reset

ok so i had a cel on, i pulled the codes and i am wondering how to reset the ecu? Do you pull both pos and neg? Just one? How long does it take? Is there a fuse you can just pull? Car is a 92 eclipse, any help would be cool cause i need to pass I/M but cant with that darn cel on.:banghead

You can pull the (-) only for 15-30 min. I usually do 30 min to be safe.

30 min? I pull mine for 10 seconds and I've already lost all dsmlink settings.

What I learned in automotive school is most ecu take around 30 seconds to reset but to be sure leave it off for a few mins. 30 mins I think is a little Excessive!! And if you look on your positive side on the battery there is three fuses, one is for the ecu. I guess you could just pull that out for a few mins. but dont lose it haha!

Everyone has given good info. Pull the negative terminal off for a few minutes and it'll reset.
