Ok Its a 99 Eclipse GS, all stock, and lately ive been driving and my Engine Coolant Temp gauge has been reaching the top as im driving, then lowering as i stop at lights or stopsigns. But i checked under the hood, my engine isnt overheating, i have plenty of coolant, i dont know what it could be  Any help would be appreciated, thanks

bad sensor or wiring leading to it, I would also run it with the cap off and bleed the system of air after replacing the sensor and checking your wiring.

How do you know your engine isn't overheating? A gauge is specifically telling you that your engine is overheating... Granted, it's possible the sensor or related wiring is bad, but at least explore the possibility that your engine is actually overheating. I'd carefully look for exhaust leaks near the thermostat housing.

nevermind...i was low on antifreeze :l
not good..but thats all it was..i gotta start checkin up on this shit more
