i need some help asap. i just swapped a new clutch and pressure plate in with a new tob. and i got the transmission on but i went under the car and tried to push the fork in and i cant at all..... did i mess something up or is this normal until i get everything hooked up. i thought i would be able to push the fork and the pressure plate would move too but nothing happened i need help fast! please tell me i didn F anything up.

i can wiggle it off and on the pressure plate. yes the clutch is on right but wouldnt i be able to push the pressure plate????

You would not be able to push the pressure plate with the fork...thats why you have a clutch slave cylinder. You're trying to push on a 2100lb(or whatever you have) pressure plate with your hand isn't gonna do anything...the slave cylinder being bolted to the bell-housing provides the necessary leverage to push on the springs of the pressure plate...install everything and get a friend to watch the fork while you push on the clutch..

Which way are you trying to move the slave? Towards the pass side to compress the PP? If so thats not going to happen by you trying to move it with your hand. If towards the drivers side (to compress the slave), then have you re-adjusted the master cylinder rod? This needs to be done after every clutch replacement, otherwise you'll have all kinds of issues. RRE has some good info on their clutch adjustment page & Jacks Transmissions has the best video I've seen posted on their site on how to adjust the rod properly.

yea the slave is not hooked up yet... so i guess this is ok because those fingers are pretty tough to push in right.
