halifax,
My question is.....I don't have dsmlink/stutterbox. I do not build boost while staging when just revving the car up. Is it safe to rev the car up with the clutch engaged and bounce it off the rev limiter to build boost? Does the rev limiter change with the clutch engaged ? I'm looking to improve the times I have with the parts I have for right now so any advice would be great. thanks

With all due respect...that is a horrible idea. It will build a little boost if you have a smaller turbo, but is awful for the engine and is reaaallllly bad on the drivetrain as you will be essentially "dumping" the clutch at like 7500. That is way to high to launch.

My suggestion is either practice the slip/throttle method you have to do when free revving, or just spend 150 bucks for a keydiver chip programmed with launch control and get your ecu socketed.

Like he^^^ said. It will do essentially the same thing as a 2 step...thats just WAY to high to launch on a stock drivetrain. A friend of mine did a 7k rpm launch and shattered his center diff instantly.

Sorry man. I guess its possible to get away with it if you are good at preloading the tranny and slipping the clutch. But it is more likely that you'll shatter the 2 spider ctr diff in a heartbeat.

Ok well i appreciate the info, but just an fyi I wasnt saying I was going to do it, and definately haven't done it. But Ive seen it on other forums mentioning to stage that way so I thought I would ask here. I've got a gt35r so it probably wont even make a difference doing that anyway.

Yeah I guess this was also to find out what the limiter was with the clutch engaged. I never shift above 7k so revving it for a few seconds at 7500 doesnt sound too fun for my engine LOL

please leave the pointless post out of his thread...

I know it is frustrating seeing vacuum when your trying to launch but if you look at when you start to slip your clutch when you launch the boost comes on very quick IF you slip right and first put alittle load on the engine and then put full load onto it.. When you get it right it will pull like a mo fo. I decided to go with link.. If you search hard you can find it for cheap. I just bought mine shipped for 280 from a guy that moved on to EVOs... Keep practicing but don't break anything LOL.. hard combo..

^^ with the chip and with dsmlink you can add a clutch wire install and it send a signal to the ecu when you depress the clutch so you can change the rev limit when the clutch is depressed.. You need some type of aftermarket devise.. Also a msd ign box
