type of oil to use?

quick question i have a 1998 420a non turbo and am going to change the oil should i go with the autozone recommended oil or is there better oil to use thanks.

How much do you want to spend?? I run a full syn everytime with wicks filters.. I buy my stuff from napa..

i just started using royal purple and i love it! Granted i cant tell a difference between that and castrol, but, the oil looks soo much cooler!

On a more healpful side i'd reccomend a type a synthetic, i belive castrol is a nice mid range price and rather effective.

Any API SJ or better oil will work fine, even the no-name WalMart stuff. I recommend an API SM oil.
