Him im thinking of getting a stage 3 transmission to use on my car that has a stroker in it. It comes with the opition 4 spirder and cost $2200 or i can get a welded Dif for $1975 this includes shipping charges as well so i was thinking of going with the welded Dif as im not useing it to race full time but mainly street driveing.

The welded diff is suggested for high horsepower cars that will see mainly track use. A 4 spider diff is recommended for street cars.

My friend has a welded diff an its not that bad. But he has a factory lsd rear so sometimes going around hard turns it a bit clunky. I went with a welded diff in my new 95 talon im still working on. Im using penny's to build my car so if i need to deal with some small thing like this ooooooooo KKKKKKKKKK with me im sick of tow trucks Ha Haa..

ok so welded diff it is then :) i dont have alot to spend and dont want to invest 2 much more in the car. So far i spend 5k buying it $900 getting the first tranny replaced and head gasket then this 2k for a stage 3 thats about 8k so far invested.

If this is your daily driver them I wouldn't recommend the welded. A welded turns into 4x4 instead of an AWD. All four wheels spins in sync and you'll have a hard time on parking lots because you'll always be peeling out. Plus with what you have you don't need to go as far as a stage 3 if you're not using this as a track car and you can get your transmission rebuilt instead of replaced.

You do realize that by using a welded diff. on a daily driven car your going to have very accelerated tire wear, put a lot of unneeded stress on your hubs and CV joints, and shorten the life span of the transmission right?

Its not really a daily drive i have 3 other rides so i switch off. I was looking into a stage 2 but the guy at sheptransmission suggested i get stage 3 cause the car has the stroker in it. Im not chanceing a stock rebuild cause the last tranmssion lasted only 2 months and it was a stock build. maybe be the money saved by going with weld would only go back out into buying tires in the long run so i guess i will do the spider cause this car has 18" tires and them things are not cheap to buy LOL

Good choice! :thumb: Welded is for straight lines.

Welding that diff is hard on a lot more than only your tires. It can damage CV axles and trannies as well. Especially if you're turning a lot. I do NOT recommend welding your diff unless its a track car that is brought to the drag strip on a trailer. It is HARSH to drive on roads.
