What is the level of severity with an f'd up harmonic balancer besides the entire engine block getting the shakes? Is the harmonic balancer gold colored?

It'll throw your belts eventually, and who knows what will get wedged where, possible throwing the timing out of whack and doing some valvetrain damage. It should just be a black pulley on the crank, where the 2 belts share a pulley.

Seperating the Harmonic Balancer is a possibility as well as it is a 2 piece set up. I would go ahead and replace it.

Definetly replace it. If you don't it wont be long till your belts rip to shreds and you risk damaging alot more when all you need is an $80 part and 2-3 hrs of sweatin and knuckle bustin
