im really sorry for all the quesyions guys, but i jus have so many of them. Right now i have a 1999 Civic Si and a 95 talon n/t (with turbo), the 420 is built up, 16g turbo, now what im wondering is If i dont drive the car like a dumbass all the time on the road and keep up with the maintence, will the engine beable to withstand the abuse of autocross and drag racing? See the reason i ask is im going to be selling the Si (which is my autocross and drag car now) and im wondering if the dsm will be able to take it. thanks guys

Being nice to it on the street, but trying to win in a race doesn't really matter. The motor doesn't understand the difference. My opinion is that using a blown non-turbo motor for competition will kill it in short order.

What kind of "Build Up" do you have done to the 420A besides turbo?

i really need your opinion on this guys becasue i have tomake a desicion by the end of the weekend. i either keep the Si or the dsm. :( .
help me:confused:

dsm for drag racing -obviously has the most hp mods on it

si for autocross - good suspension layout and lightweight. plus suspension parts are cheaper.

jsut depends on which racing you'd rather do.

14.8 is my best, so you guys think that the Si has better handling than the talon? the Si had tokico blues and ground controls and the dsm has tokicos and and H and R sport springs. to me the dsm seems like it has better handling, but i dunno.

didn't realize both had modded suspension, i'd still think that the civic would be a little more responsive, but once you throw in aftermarket suspension in i can't say.

Keep the Civic Si!
Get a safc2 VTEC controller and a JUN reprogramed ECU. Hello 13s!
Im gessing you already have Intake,Header and, Exhaust
just my 2cents

hey, that jun chip must be the one that gives 60hp

one of my buddies has a completely gutted civic hatch with a built type R motor, i used to kick his ass when i still had my frank jr 17c turbo, my car was untuned except for what i had done on the street to keep the egt's down, his motor was built, and had a dyno tuned aem standalone fuel management, that civic was in the 13's, no way in hell a civic si with just i/h/e mods, vtec controller and a chip is gonna do that
