ok, i need a new clutch, it had a new cluch when i bought it. and it hold fine most of the time. except when i get down on it hard. and i still plan on modding it some more. im planning on replacing all my piping from the turbo to the intake. and after that i want to start on the feul system so i can take full advantage of this bigger turbo.
anyways, i want to know which clutch would be better. i have always heard people talking about the 2600 but when i looked on the parts catalog i saw the 2100 and the 2900. anyway, why dont i buy the 2900. are there any disadvantages to it, or is it just for the track

If you plan on making no more than 325-350bhp, then the ACT2100 will do nicely for you. It is the clutch that I have, and it's very streetable. The pedal is approximately the same stiffness as the stock clutch. Launching is the area where I notice the most difference. The engagement is nice and smooth once it gets broken in a hundred miles or so.

If you want to make up to about 450bhp, then the ACT2600 will do the job nicely. Also, the 2600 can stand up to a lot of launches. The pedal pressure is supposed to be noticeably more with the clutch.

The 2900 probably hold another 50+bhp on top of that.

Get whichever one suits your needs.

Here is what you do. Call AMS (www.automotosports.com). Tell them you want the Gabor Special Clutch. This clutch was put together by a buddy of mine and let me tell you this clutch is badass.

I run the stock pressure place with this disk and I pull 1.7 60fts all day long. I could pull better but I suck If you have a 2G I highly recommend this clutch because it uses the stock pressure plate so you do not have to deal with all that crankwalk stigma that the 2600 carries.

The trick is that when you run this clutch you really should get a stainless clutch line and ditch the restrictor. This keeps it from slipping as much and allows the clutch to grab harder and faster. It also helps extend the life of the clutch.

It is really nice because when I'm at the track all I do is rev to 6000 or so and sidestep the clutch and I'm gone. So far my best with this disk is 1.73 60ft.
