1) Has anyone passed smog test (both visual and sniffer) in california, with 3 inch DP, high flow cat, and exhaust??

2) Do you know if you can pass smog with external dump tube??

how long ago did you pass the smog test with your set up??? and what other mods did you have???

this was about a year ago...i had all the mods listed except the 2g MAS, was still running a hacked 1g MAS. are you due for a smog? if so, make sure you drive your car around for a WHILE and get your cat REALLY hot before you get the smog done. i passed with flying colors...

no i'm not due for smog... my car is 98, was purchased in 97 tho... by an original owner... and he smoged the car before he sold me the car... when was about last summer... so i should have another year.. but currently i'm in the process of upgrading my car... and don't really wanna keep my stock DP and such... since i don't have stock exhaust anyways... i have hks dragger btw... the reason why i don't wanna keep those things is coz i have no space... so ya... just curious... i'm thinking about getting DP from rre soon tho... since i'm in riverside right now..

Im from arizona, and I know its not as strict, but it is second hand to california... I passed with a 3" turbo back with high flow cat (borrowed from my friend, hacked mas and an egr block off, which I think you guys test for in california.

Digging up and old thread to ask about Cali DSM's with external WG's in general: Doesn't state law prohibit external WG's, regardless of whether they dump or not? I have heard that external WG's are illegal and they will not pass visual. I see that GSX90 passed with an external, but was this an isolated case of getting lucky?

I believe that "some" smog stations test much harder than others, such as the first place I've been to. I failed the visual due to the PCV modification (having oil catch can), and greddy type s BOV, although it was used as bypass valve (recirculated), it didn't have the CARB number. However, at this other place, I passed the visual as I just popped my hood. But this was a long before the new type of smog check has started. (the one with dyno)
