bad grinding noises!

oh god i think im screwed
i was turning right,in second gear, this civic behind me following closely probably wants a piece! the civic wanted to pass me, so i let him catch up a little, then i floor it. i look at him instead of my tach, and i hit pass redline (dunno how far past) and i heard a BOOM from my exhaust, not sure tho if it really was from the exhuast. after i heard that, i shifted to 3rd, he didn't pass me
Everything seemed fine til i hit a stop light, sounded like rocks rumbling in my engine bay! I can put the car into gear fine, but when i shift from 1st to 2nd, and so on, i hear this loud grinding noise and vibration on the clutch pedal. luckily i wasn't too far from home, and i immediately parked and shut it off. i tried turning it on again after i let it cool, but i still hear this 'rocks' mixing/grinding noise, dunno from where, i was too afraid to leave it on and check the engine bay. anybody know ###'s going on? thanks
if it helps, im stock turbo, act2100........

sounds like you fu(ked your tranny up. I would pull the tranny out and see if you find any those chunks making the noises.

bye bye valve train

sounds like your valve train is in pieces. take off the head cover and see what you can find.

Kinda hard to diagnose. The car runs so the valve train can not be too bad, if that is what it is. I had a noise similar to 'rocks' and it was the tensioner of the timing belt. My noise went away after the car hit 2500 rpms.

You're the closest, you win! I know this happened 4 years ago, lol, but just in case anybody searches this, "rocks rumbling" were my flywheel bolts, some broke off. That's what I get for not buying brand new ones after installing a 2100 before this happened. But my car was and is fine, no damage.
