i'm having my CFDF HD ballbearing clutch installed this weekend and i know that you have to drive about 500 miles of stop and go city driving without boost to break it in. I'm just wondering what other people have done to not boost durring this period. I know the obvious answer is just accelerate slowly and be real patient, but is there a way to disconnect the wastegate or somehow disconnect the turbo from spooling so that you won't have to boost (although i'm sure the car would have about 90hp) thanks

No there is no way to disconnect it, the car would not run. Just turn down the BC to 9psi and dont get on the gas, yes you actually have to be careful and pay attention for once in your life ;)


hahahaha, darn and i was hoping to go through life without ever having to pay attention to anything.......thanks for the advice though
 
I was under the impression that the break in involes no hard shifting or clutch engagement, and has nothing to do with how hard you drive it. Once the clutch is fully engaged, what difference does it make how fast you go?


This is how I broke in my last ACT 2600, and I must say, that thing went through TONS of hard (5500rpm) launches and it was fine.
 
got my act 2600 from rre.....for the break-in period, they just told me to drive 500 miles of normal driving. no launching, no slamming the gears and no hard downshifts...they said that you could go 100 mph or whatever if u want as long as u don't abuse the clutch....i just went 750 miles to play it safe....launching at 5500 now no problem!

how?

just amking sure i dont roast the 2100 i just got. it has 64 miles on it so far, and i adjusted the clutch petal so it engages like an inch or so off the floor.
