So bought this 99 RS from this dude who only owned it for about 3 months. He claims he didn't mods the car.

My car, has this weird grinding sound between the spring and something. So... like a smart person I took a closer look, ---->>THIS DOUCHE PUT SPRING COMPRESSORS ON EACH SPRING TO LOWER THE CAR!!! <<----

this car is my daily driver...

Now I have ordered a Tokico Spring and Strut Set as well as Energy Polyurethane Bushings for my car. :thumb:

Now the question for today is:

Should I take the spring compressors off? Or keep it on until the gear gets here? it is still going to make that grinding sound and the new stuff gets here in about 2 weeks. Please help!

Take a picture, if its just a spring compressor compressing the spring on a stock strut, I don't see why you can't remove it and be at stock height.

I honestly don't know how long they have been on there, and my logic with not taking them off yet is that, #1 The shop I use is closed till Wednesday #2 I don't want the shocks to be bad etc etc etc #3 I haven't taken pictures of how dumb this person was...

1. You shouldn't need a shop to remove spring compressors.
2. The shocks are going to possibly be bad, regardless. If anything, taking them off might help.
3. Take a pic.

The grinding is actually the spring rubbing on the stupid spring compressor

It really looks like the dude, bought spring compressors, cut the bolt ends down and slapped it on there.

:ohdamn:

PICTURES!

Driver Front, this shock is the one that grinds

The white stuff isn't "man spunk!" its white lithium grease.

What compels a person to do this, and then sells it to another person and cal it "good?"

If he only had it 3mos, maybe the guy before him did it. Either way its always worth to drive, crawl under, inspect a used car before you buy it.

Just take them off.
