Before I get called out on not checking other threads, I did. The problem is, many of the diagrams I have been referring to (http://http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/270/taboo6cf.png/sr=1) and the one "virtual tour" of the engine bay, both show differences from mine.

What I'm really trying to muster up from you guys is a diagram that reflects what I'm dealing with, but to help you guys understand my dilemma more I'll go into detail.

(Not sure how to write captions beneath each picture, so I'll just do it this way)

Picture 1) You will notice a short vacuum line, which I have circled. I can't figure where this leads to. Also, I can't figure out which line attaches to nipple on the EGR solenoid, which I also have circled. And lastly, the "P" on the intake has no nipple, and never has. It's completely blocked off. However, in the diagram I listed, it shows vacuum lines coming from it.

Picture 2) Here you'll see what I'm assuming is my purge control valve. There are two lines coming from this, and there is another larger line coming from the white thing behind it. Can't match them up. Oh, and there is no EVAP "purge" solenoid on my firewall. Maybe this has to do something with the "P" being blocked off?

Picture 3) Just another view of the lines

Picture 4) No clue where this line runs to.

Picture 5) This one is just a little extra credit LOL, don't know where this connects to.

Well I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read my post, and I thank you in advance. Hopefully I can figure this out soon, I wanna get this thing finished with!

This is the original '98-'99 diagram which is posted in http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-miscellaneous/198327-taboo-speed-shop-vacuum-diagram-removal-1g-2g.html#post152901120:

Pic 4 shows the windshield washer fluid line.
Pic 5, assuming an original setup for your model year, is the crank position sensor.

Let us know if that helps at all or if you need more information.

I had this same issue when i got my 1g talon, I just ripped them all out and put in all new ones. They where all cracked and dry anyways. Some of the factory routings, under the intake, where a pain not sure if there routed the same way on the 2g or not. A lift would be very helpful to you, but at least a jack and stands would be good to have. Print out that picture if you can too its a major help.

Yes, this should help a lot actually. I can't believe I missed this diagram, I got the picture I linked from there! I guess that's what I get for not thoroughly searching through each picture :ohdamn:

I still do have a couple questions though. The purge solenoid... looks like it's right beside the intake manifold, but I can't see it whatsoever...

And also, the line coming from the "A" on the intake manifold in the diagram appears to split at a certain point, although the one in my first picture doesn't. Do I just have the wrong line on that?

Follow the colored lines shown here across your intake manifold; picture credits go to member ishnish:

Yes, it appears you have the wrong line there or it's been cut at some point or another.

Well... I guess I'm missing both the purge solenoid and the lines that go to it...

It probably would be much easier for me to just do an emissions delete (considering my county doesn't do emissions tests). My only concern is that my car is practically stock. Would doing an emissions delete have any ill effects on my car besides throwing a code?

Nope. The FPS is really the only one that is of any concern and the only thing it does is potentially, slightly increase the time needed to restart the engine when hot.

Awesome, that's probably what I'll go ahead and do tomorrow then. Thanks for your help (and everyone elses), I really appreciate it.

Oh, and one more question. The sensor that you said was the crank position sensor is connected. But the thing I took a picture of extends from it, that's what I can't figure out.

Andddd another question. Since I'm the lucky dog who has his charcoal canister in his gas tank, can I just remove everything in my engine bay and just ignore the canister? Or do I have to delete that as well, and if so, how?

In regards to the crank sensor, I don't understand what you mean.

The only other possibility is a cam position sensor for a '95-'96 model -- which is why I said that if it is originally for your car it is the crank position sensor. It should be bolted to the oil pump/front casing in holes 16 and 18 shown here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/407453-1g-7bolt-help-timing-side-installation.html#post152640011. If that doesn't help, please try to clarify what you mean.

This is the whole thing. The one part connects right where you said the crank position sensor is supposed to be, but I don't understand where the other end connects to.

Don't know what to tell you, then. That's where it goes; that's what it plugs into; you'll have to dig for it and make sure you haven't plugged something else up to it like the A/C or coils pack.

Unless... unless you're running a 1G CAS to provide both cam and crank signals in which case you don't technically need the 2G crank position sensor anymore.

I'll get back to you about the sensor when I get home. But about the charcoal canister again, since that is in my gas tank, how do I go about removing this for an emissions delete? Or am I fine with just leaving it in?

Okay and for the sensor, hopefully this clears up the confusion

You can leave it there.

For reference, it is the "rectangular" shaped thing on the left side of of the left tank in the first picture here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/247093-awd-conversion-swap-guys-enter-here-advanced-merged-2-07-a-8.html#post152540416 or more simply pictured here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/445831-99-gst-evap-removal.html#post153081042

Apparently there is an access panel under the back seat to get to it: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/411273-where-my-charcoal-canister-there-one.html#post152693535

Here's the final destinations of each of the three hoses running to the canister: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/maintenance-repairs/407339-fuel-tanks.html#post152643033.

Okay great, thank you for all the info. Now, to finish hooking everything up and begin troubleshooting! :thumb:
