Two questions:
1. Who has used the Android Application "Torque," is it worth it and is it accurate? Just ordered my OBD port bluetooth for it.

2. My clutch pedal, when I bought my car it wasn't driven for 5+ years and when I recieved the car the clutch pedal was either stuck pushed in or out, just popped back and fourth without pressure, after flopping it back and fourth 20 times it gained a little pressure. More I kept doing that the stiffer it became. Now its no longer getting any stiffer, is just stiff enough I can get into gear, but just loose enough where it can be hard to quickly shift to the next gear. A lot of the time I have to press the clutch in several times to get a gear in easily, otherwise im almost forcing the gear in. Is my slave cylinder bad? Maybe just a matter of bleeding the lines? I didnt have to add any DOT3 fluid. Probably needs to be chamged out though.

I used that program on other cars via obd2 blue tooth. Its "ok" Id like to find a bluetooth adapter for my 90 tsi to try it on also.

#2 ya sounds like air in system. bleed it and you should be good.

Is it accurate enough though? Is it anything like data logging with a pda? This is where I bought my obd bluetooth

Ive messed with it at work on customers cars just to check it out. (never on a dsm or for logging) So I can't answer that part of your question.

all the readings seemed good. decent refresh rate, etc.. I have a OBD2 bluetooth adapter like you linked. my '90 talon doesnt use obd2 like the ones below.

That app only works with odbII so don't bother with the adapter for your talon.

OP this is the adapter I bought and use. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00]BAFX Products (TM) - ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light and other diagnostics - Android compatible : Amazon.com : Automotive[/ame]

I can only attest to it working really well on my DD saturn. it's pretty accurate and lots of fun to play with. The adapter is good to have any way if for no other reason then to check and clear codes ( on any OBDII compatible vehicle) all together it was $32 app and adapter... Might as well just give it a shot for so little investment.

Edit from all the reviews I read for that adapter on Amazon,it's the best one people have found; with bad stories about using any of the other brands. I'd stick to what other people say worked for them!

I liked the app and it served good purpose for me. I didn't hold it to be 100% accurate, because there are programs out there that have been proven to be 100% accurate or close enough to it.

Ya, I know this. I have mmcdroid when it was a free d/l and I forget what others for a pda. I have he cables for it also but a nice bluetooth adapter for a 1g would be nice.

Ive never checked but I have a snap on solus ultra. Will have to see if it has '90 talon in it.

For me, the Torque app is working great. Although I haven't really used it for much more than checking the odd CEL code every now and again.

It does accurately give my RPM and speed, but it doesn't do fuel percentage (at least for my car).

I think the MPG display and graph give my correct gas mileage, if not, it is very close. It at least shows how you should be driving to save gas.

It doesn't hurt to purchase the $15 dollar OBDII connector and try it out. But besides for diagnostic purposes, Torque Pro has some decent plugins. One uses the video camera of the device to make a dash cam and overlays your driving statistics on the recorded video.

I'm a torque fan. IMO, the best way to sue it is with a Pioneer AppRadio 2 and the ARLiberator app. That way you get the torque displays integrated into your dashboard, like a GT-R. And a decent head unit for streaming music from your phone.

Boost is not accurate, its hit and miss, done a pull and it read good did another and it reads totally diff did one the said 60# on a 14b, on it but vacuum is within 2_3 in/hg. Everything else seems,to be okay but track recorder didn't work very good for me.

I used Torque today and everything I could compare to my actual guages seemed accurate enough. However I set guages for fuel trim, Bank 1 - Sensor 1 sensor 2 and so on to sensor 4, And im only getting readings on sensors 1 & 2 and not 3 & 4, Is that normal? And the readings I get on my fuel trim is like around 17% depending on throttle, normal?

And also on the Air fuel ratio guage there are two, commanded and Measured which do I use? I have tried Measured, and doesnt work.

And my Throttle only goes up to 97%.. App error or is it me? Lol thanks

The Gages that don't work you probably don't have sensors for, if you go to adapter status it will tell you what is available from the ECU. You should post that here.

Because you only have two sensors. 17%+ or-? At idle cruise or?

97% is probably you, slack.in the throttle cable is common

Apple has GL-1 dashcommand. It's got some very cool features, and the logging rate gets better the more parameters you turn off. That being said, I wouldn't feel comfortable enough using it's data stream for precise logging. I use link for that. Gauge configuration(especially for ipad) and racetrack mapping with accel and decel g's are some of the better features imo

On torques website I thought I saw the apple logo aswell.

So 1 sensor controls 2 injectors? And I did see negative percentages aswell. Should use the logger on the injectors? What should I use in correlation with logging them, RPMs? Im new to this type of stuff.

Edit: At idle My fuel trim bounces between -.8 and 1.7

Fuel trims should stay +-5%. If they do your good

I don't remember anything about logging injectors??

Dash command is on android to for a whopping $50!

Yea Dash Command is 42 I think on the apple store, you can use Torque on the apple devices but not with the go point blue tooth FYI. Here are some pics of the dashboard for Dash Command the timing section can be switched between timing and fuel trims. If all your info is put into settings correctly you can log with it pretty well. If dsm link is available to you though I would reccomend that first of course.
