Transmission planning for 2.3 build

After a few yrs I'm planning my GVR4 1G stroker build. Running a t3 bep hx35 and later moving to a hx40, on pump gas only, 25-30psi. Like to think I'd be in the 450-500whp range... Ive broken a few box's on the 2L so Ive sort of learnt I need to be a tad more forgiving. The box I'm building will have 4 spider Center diff, upgraded selector forkes and a freshen up, so basically like a stage 2 or 3 build but not doing the evo 3 3rd and 4th. Strokers tend to strip 3rd and 4th with the torque so what are people's experiences on similar setup? The clutch I have is a clutchnet 6 puk and the 2X (2500lb) plate. Is this likely to be ok or would I need to move to the 3X (2800lb) plate?

Why don't you go with the HD gears 3rd and 4th, plus the HD 3,4 hub&slider.
They are the strongest gears on the market, stronger than the EVO's.
The disadvantage is they are not double synchro.

Yeah thanks I've seen that jacks sells them. I've been looking at what jacks, tre, shep do in their various stages. What I'm asking is are standard 3rd and 4th strong enought with a 450-500whp stroker? Car is a dd and will do a few drag runs a yr.

Well I haven't run any of those yet. But they say HD's are good for up to 700hp:

Depending on which tranny you have, you will most probably have to change the intermediate shaft as well.

I run a Shep stage 3, with 4 spider, quaife front LSD. The act 2900 sprung 6 puck combo is rated for 570ft lbs (at flywheel) which wasn't enough for my setup. Could not get it to hold more than 494ft lbs on the dyno. The clutchnet will likely need to be replaced if you want to put all the torque to the ground. I sold my setup to switch to a twin disc.
