Ok the car suddenly started running poorly when the MAF is unplugged as well as plugged in ( previously ran fine when MAF unplugged) I have found that if I take one of the vacuum lines off of this small plastic cylinder/can that has a "sensor" plug going to it,the car will run fine with the MAF unplugged again. It is located just above the throttle body/ intake area and is mounted to the firewall. Im trying to figure out what the little cylinder is. Here is a pic thank you!

DO NOT drive the car with the maf up hooked. Even if it seems to run alright DO NOT do it. Do a boost leak test and check for codes.

That is the EGR Solonoid, there's no reason the car should run any different with that unplugged as it apart of the emissions system and that is it. If you unplug the vacuum lines going to it, you will have a vacuum leak that is all. Your problem lies else where. Like said, do a boost leak test and check for codes.
