95 Auto gsx I think I got this figured out, opinions still matter and advice!

Okay so My car was slipping everytime i put into over drive, then it started slipping almost all the time, so heres what i did, I took out the old tranny filter and switched it my fluid looked brownish red with little metal particles in it also looked like there where two quarted size clumps of sludge/metal stuff plus the magnets had metal shavings on it(has me nervous). I put the new fluid in and the slipping went away, but my overdrive problem didn't, so I ordered the ipt end clutch kit, I'm not to familiar with these cars, but I think this is my problem right? what do you guys think? any extra advice would be appreciated thanks

anyone?

+1 on the end clutch kit, When I first got my car it would do that, I disabled overdrive, and drove it 190 miles home just fine, that was the first thing I did, was order a full tranny rebuild kit + end clutch + translab shift kit.

Did you get the ipt filter as well? I just seen on another site that the napa filter is very large, and has worked well, but needs longer bolts.

Yes, it was a full IPT build, and I recommend to the OP, even if the end clutch solves the problem at hand, there were filings/shavings etc in the system, think about doing the trans re-build, you won't be dissapointed!
