So I did an oil change on my 91 talon tsi awd that I bought a couple weeks ago and started hearing a knock around 2500rpms. So I was driving it home and it died and now it wont crank over. I can turn the car on and all the lights work but when I turn the key it just clicks but wont crank at all.??????? Help plaese.

I think you might want to drop the oil pan and have a look at things. Look for play in the rod bearings. Look for metal in the oil pan, should be pretty obvious when you get the pan off if you have spun a bearing.

As far as not starting, it could be as simple as the starter went out, but if you spun a bearing then that doesn't really matter right now.

Reach down by the starter and wiggle the wires like its 1969. While your doing that have someone try to turn over the car. You don't want to start the car, just to turn it over while the hand is doing the nasty.

If that fails, turn the car on the on position and jump the starter solenoid with a screw driver to see if it will turn over.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but most of the time a spun rod bearing means time for a rebuild.

The bearings can be replaced with the motor still in the car, but just replacing the bearings might only get you 0-3000 miles untill it happens again.

Hopefully more people will chime in and give you more advise.

Its not your bearings its your starter.

Yea man for sure do what livedsm4g63 said first. Hopefully it's just the starter making the knocking sound around 2500rpm.

Use the bolt that is in the crank pulley, don't turn it over via the cam gears.
This is just to see if the engine is locked.

Stop taking short cuts and drop the oil pan.

You can still reuse use the cams, and the pistons for a rebuild.
If it is rod knock you need to take the block, crank, rods and head to be inspected and machined.

If you have another car, time and are willing to learn and do things right do it yourself and save some money.
Use this site for help, search and read a lot about these cars and how parts work together.
If you take it to someone its going to be expensive, and imo I don't trust anybody else working on my car.

But first find out what's wrong with it, are you sure it was knocking?how loud was it? It might even just be a lifter tick, who knows you might get lucky.

if your in the same boat as me then yes you will need to do a rebuild i traded my 88 4runner for a 95 built gst kinda knocking around 18-2200 rpms.. it will lock up under any boost.i hit 5 psi and it crank walked and what i thought threw a rod bearing which was false ended up the kid that stuck the sh!t together forgot the 2nd rod bearing and it screwed alot of sh!t up. so on top of crank walk i had that... so i went and bought a fellow members motor due to him getting in a wreck just to get it running...(just get it out after you try the starter and either check it yourself or have a shop do it) good luck with your findings.
