Hi fellow DSM'ers I have a few questions.

Are all the 2G back trunk doors the same???
I am going to exchange my " door " with another friend that has a GST for his door

and other question is

If the " Door " has a rear wiper, how do I set up the wiper to work?

and

If I decide to remove the " rear wiper " how can I seal the holes?

I was thinking like bondo and sand paper and black on black paint to cover it, but I also read on the forums that people use "PLUGS" ???

Thanks for your time and help!

 I assume you had read up on it and there is a few different ways. One, you can Bondo it, Weld it, and/or plug it and then paint. Why would you replace your hatch with a rear wiper, then go back and delete??? :aha: Just stick with an "RS" hatch and move on in life. Unless the whole purpose of exchanging hatches, is to have a High Rise Turbo Spoiler. Then all you need to do is switch out back Spoilers. Am I right? :sneaky:

All 2g hatches are the same.
Some have a different length latch (hook) though.
So if you swap hatches and it doesn't close all the way.
Then you have to swap back to you original latch.(hook)

I have seen people use rubber plugs when removing spoilers and wipers etc.
Should be able to pick one up a Home Depot or Lowes.

My hatch doesn't have a spoiler. It doesn't have the holes in it and I have a High Rise Spoiler. My purpose for doing this is so I can have my High Rise on the hatch. The old owner of the High Rise is going to trade me hatches so I can put mine on.

I've read up on doing the drill holes on the hatch. I don't want to keep drilling and have it crocked. So that's the reason I'm changed hatches, not for the treat wiper.

I was just asking about the wiper because it may come with the hatch, unless he removes it.

He has a 97 G's model, I have a 95 rs n/t.

Thank you for your information. It's been helpful, I may use plugs until I seal it, if it doesn't have the wiper.

My mistake, I should have not jumped into a conclusion. A plug will do for a short while, until you can do it properly, by a another way. It should have been posted in the Original Post, but never the less, your questions were answered and that's what counts. Keep us updated on the progress with the swap after and before with photographs.

Installing the high rise is easy. I have no experience whatsoever with autobody work and I did it in an hour.

I seen a guide on where you drill it and etc. But I dont want it to be aligned crocked if you get what I am saying? :s

If I do it wrong, I am going to keep doing it and more holes :p = no no

It is perfectly fine, I am not offended or anything! :hellyeah:

Ok another question here.

I was lOoking at the hatch. I see the 2 screws on each side to remove the hatch and then under this hose/wire like thing on the top left corner.

What is it?

Ill take pictures of me changing the hoods when I do it either this Saturday or Sunday.

The low spoiler has more holes then the high rise, but I think it may lign up. I saw a thread on here where he sealed the holes and made some for the high rise.

Good job both of you! :hellyeah:

I don't wanna make incorrect holes and have it look wrong, then I rage! LOL

Hey everybody thanks for all your help and responses!

The HighRise is on, but I need to get some longer bolts, the bolts I were given were too small and won't go in. So I need to go out and buy them when I get a chance.

I am posting pictures of the old hatch and the new one + some tint. Also of the High Rise / Orca Fin! :) Enjoy as I love the way it looks!

I will post pic of inside new hatch later! :)

Once again thanks for the support!
