Greetings from Sweden, i have been registered for a little while, but mostly looking around the forums.

here´s how i made my own intake manifold.

4 pieces 48x1mmx120mm funnels made from regular steel - 40 dollars
1 piece intake flange made by a friend at work, plasmacut, 10mm regular steel 50 dollars
i piece 6 litre fireextinguisher, free of charge

measure where the 4 holes will be made, as perfectly as you can using the stock gasket

Cut the holes, i used an anglegrinder & a file to make them 100% correct

Cut the funnels to the desired length, i made mine 78mm long

I also narrowed the "plenumchamber" by 50mm in the far end from the throttlebody.

pulled the two pieces together & carefully welded them

then welded the funnels to both the "plenumchamber & the flange.

Now all thats missing are the vacum-fittings & some smaller bits of sheet-steel to make the throttlebodyfitting.

PS.. I made this for my EVO 2 -94 which is a pure Driftcar with
north/south engineinstallation using an BMW M3 gearbox.

Yeah i would like to see pics. It might cost a bit to get it tested but i would like to see how it flows compared to stock

Not everything is flow :) but i get what you mean !

the last picture i posted is of av Swedish homemade Super7-car using anf fireextinguisher which has been lengtened to accomondate the 4 funnels for the Volvo b230 engines lenght,

They have 680bhp - nothing about the intakemanifold has been "flowtested" or calculated. But ofcourse if they did, it would perhaps give them even more power.

Great ingenuity and making the most of your resources!

Got any pics of this Evo2 with M3 gearbox?

Its undergoing "surgery" right now :)

But here are a few :)

And if your cam sensor fails good luck getting it out!

I run an VEMS. (Vems.hu) Versitile Engine Management System for my engine, the camsensor is the secondary trigger :)

But i vill make a small removable plate accesable from insida the car, in case of such stuff happening.

Here are a few more pictures with the head + manifold.

Thing is awesome how long did it take you to assemble?

Hi ! total time about 4-5 hours. The welding is the worse part for me, cuttning & measurning is easy though :aha:

I still have to make som 2mm steel plates that are "curved at one end to fit against the throttlebody. more pics to come.also the fittings for the vacumhoses

I made a projectthread, check it out if you like, its in the build section
